IPA Hires New Director of Communications

We are pleased to announce that starting June 16th, 2010 Dawn Jacobsen has joined our IPA staff as Director of Communications. Dawn will be reporting to Kevin Hogan, Executive Director and her responsibilities will include oversight of all association conferences, webinars, web content and membership communications. Dawn has over 24 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining IPA, Dawn was Director of Strategic Partnerships at Ibbotson Associates and Morningstar Inc. for five years. Previously, Dawn was a vice president with Deutsche Bank where she worked primarily on the Insurance and Annuities product line. While at the firm her management responsibilities were principally focused on relationship management and operations. Prior to the merger with Deutsche Bank, she spent fifteen years with Scudder Kemper Investments with sales and management responsibilities in their insurance and investment trust business units.

“Dawn and I worked together at Scudder where I found her to possess excellent project management and customer relationship skills,” said Kevin Hogan, IPA’s Executive Director. “Dawn brings much needed project organization and oversight skills to the organization and I believe members will find her a pleasure to work with. She and Tracy Mesterharm, who will also continue to report to me, will make for a very solid, functional management team.”

Dawn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in speech from Illinois State University. Her areas of concentration were speech and mass communication and public relations.
