If you’re new to the IPA or interested in the regulatory and legislative issues impacting our industry and your business, consider joining the IPA’s Policy & Government Affairs Committee. This committee offers a unique opportunity to directly affect the policy outcomes that drive the PDI industry forward, through several key initiatives:
- Quarterly committee calls, including relevant member webinars. Our next committee call is scheduled on November 9, followed by an IPA Member Webinar on November 15, when we’ll convene for a post-mortem discussion with our partners at the Eris Group, a Washington, DC boutique lobbying firm, on the results and impact of the mid-term election.
- Discussion of “hot topics” in Congress, the Administration, federal and state regulatory and self-regulatory agencies and state legislatures, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Labor. You will have a chance to discuss our policy positions and review comment letters, letters to members of Congress and other important regulatory and legislative communications.
- Annual January Policy Planning Meeting, where we convene a dynamic, in-person meeting to develop and formulate our policy agenda, perform a SWOT analysis and review the state of our industry and discuss past successes and challenges. Join us January 15 and 16, 2019 (location to be announced) for this impactful event. As we enter the 116th Congress this January, your voice is critical!
- Annual Capitol Hill “fly-in” lobbying days, where you will meet with your Congressional delegates and their staff, discuss issues impacting your business and lend your voice to industry concerns. Our “fly-in” day takes place as part of the IPASummit event in Washington, DC, which is scheduled May 6-9, 2019. Look out for more information over the next several months!
