IPA Leads New 1031 Like-kind Exchange Advocacy Efforts
Colleagues,
At this week’s IPA Connect 1031/Qualified Opportunity Zones Due Diligence Symposium, we introduced a new holistic online resource dedicated to 1031 like-kind exchange advocacy.
To keep our members apprised of critical like-kind exchange market updates and make it easy to take action, we created a new website page, where you can directly engage with your members of Congress to support and preserve this important tax provision.
On our website, you will have access to a grassroots technology tool that will allow you to customize and send a form letter to your members of Congress to oppose any legislation to eliminate or restrict 1031 like-kind exchanges for real property.
Please reach out to Tony or me to learn more about how you can proactively support this critical advocacy effort.
Other resources available on our website include:
- Industry News: Links to the latest headlines on Section 1031 and like-kind exchanges to help you stay up-to-date
- Advocacy Resources: A comprehensive list of our latest comment letters, issue briefs and talking points for you to download
- Industry Research: A database of white papers and research reports from leading academic and industry analysts
- Upcoming Events: Details on upcoming events and webinars, as well as coverage of recent events focused on the like-kind exchange industry and advocacy
An increased focus on tax policy is one of our 2021 policy priorities. In the first quarter, we contributed to letters to Congress and the Treasury Department to underscore the importance of like-kind exchanges, which were sent on March 16 in collaboration with coalition partners representing a diverse group of stakeholders.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks,
