Anya Coverman Selected to Lead Institute for Portfolio Alternatives
The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Anya Coverman as president and chief executive officer of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives. In this role, Anya will provide strategic guidance, drive industry progress through education and advocacy initiatives as well as oversee the daily operations of the IPA.
The Board of Directors is confident that Anya will ensure the continuity of leadership and continued success of the IPA. Over the past five years, Anya has served as the IPA’s senior vice president of government affairs and general counsel. In this role, she led the IPA’s legislative, regulatory and legal initiatives, including the IPA’s Political Action Committee (PAC). Anya served as the primary liaison and senior policy representative before Congress, the executive branch and federal and state financial and self-regulatory agencies. She also counseled the IPA on all internal legal and governance matters with great success.
Prior to joining the IPA in 2017, Anya was the deputy director of policy and associate general counsel at the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA). She has also practiced corporate and securities law at the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP in Washington, D.C., and, prior to that, at a boutique financial services law firm in New York City. Anya’s experience, combined with her passion for our industry, has benefited the IPA and its members over the course of her career. In her expanded role as CEO, she will continue to support and enhance our advocacy efforts, as well as deepen the connectivity of our IPA membership through networking and education opportunities. We are incredibly excited to have her at the helm to strategically advance the IPA’s goals.
Please join me in congratulating Anya.
