IPAVision 2024 Concludes with Focus on Innovation, Industry Growth
IPAVision 2024, the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives' (IPA) premier event, wrapped up another successful year at the Conrad Orlando, where industry leaders gathered from September 23-26 to address the future of alternative investments. The conference featured cutting-edge technology, strategic discussions, and a wealth of networking opportunities, solidifying its place as the must-attend event for professionals across the sector.
A new feature of the event was the Innovators and Integrators Expo, which showcased the latest in technological advancements and business solutions for the alternative investment industry. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with tech firms and service providers, fostering meaningful collaborations and exploring new tools to drive innovation.
Throughout the conference, speakers and panelists provided insights into the latest industry trends. Notably, Chip Roame, Founder & Managing Partner of Tiburon Strategic Advisors, delivered a keynote on the evolving landscape of wealth and investment management. Roame’s in-depth analysis of investor trends, the rise of WealthTech, and strategic initiatives highlighted critical areas for professionals to focus on as the alternative investment industry grows. His insights were complemented by Oren Michaely, Director of AI at Motive Partners, who discussed the transformative role of artificial intelligence in enhancing data analysis, decision-making, and operational efficiency across the financial services sector.
The conference also revealed the findings of the second AltsLeaders Survey, conducted by industry expert Mark Goldberg with support from the IPA. This independent survey uncovered crucial trends impacting broker-dealers and registered investment advisers (RIAs), offering a detailed look at the evolving preferences for product structures and asset classes.
In addition to keynotes and panel discussions, IPAVision 2024 honored several individuals with the Outstanding Service Awards for their contributions to the alternative investment space. Brendan Cuddihy of CAIS, Jillian Fitzpatrick of Blackstone, James Linhardt of Kunzman & Bollinger, and Brad Sussman of Raymond James were recognized for their leadership and dedication to advancing IPA initiatives and industry best practices. Margo Steahly of Trilogy Real Estate Group receiving the DEI Leadership Award for her efforts in championing diversity within the industry.
